 Orchid Hybrid of Your Own

   Orchid Hybrid Naming & Registration

Dendrobium Memoria Princess Diana

The Orchid family is the largest in the whole plant kingdom, consisting of 735 genera and more than 17,000 species. On top of the species, there are more than 50,000 orchid hybrids. Each year, there are still another 1,000 new orchid hybrids added to the list.

Orchids can be found in most parts of the world. However, most numeral groups include the very rare exotic species, many ornamental hybrids and commercially important orchids are found in the tropical and sub-tropical regions. In the early 19th century, orchid hunting was a passion to western collectors. Many natural habitats were destroyed during the process when adventurous hunters were dispatched to the most remote areas of these regions to search for new species.

Towards the end of 19th century, with the development of new hybrids through breeding program, selection and propagation technique, commercial hybrids soon replaced wild orchids and became the main focus of interest. The new hybrids are usually named after VIP such as hrh Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Diana and Premier Zhu Rongji.

For a relatively affortable fee (from US$3,000), the orchid naming service is now made available to you. Be it a birthday, anniversary, wedding or just to show you care, for something a little more personal, you can now give your loved ones their very own flower, a flower named especially for them.

Our selection of new orchid hybrids are of exceptional quality with the potential to be distributed worldwide. They have gone through a minimum of five years of selection by renowned breeders. For the premium hybrids, the breeders are so confident of the quality of their plants that they guarantee the plants will win awards in intrenational orchid shows!
